Xoçai - The Healthy Chocolate Choice

Approved as a Natural Health Product with Health Canada
Xoçai is considered a "Clean Product": No Artificial Colors, No Artificial Flavors, No Preservatives, and No Sucralose (processed sugar). And they are also Gluten free, have no added caffeine, and contain no saturated fats. It is Kosher certified, and appropriate for vegetarians and vegans.

But what is it?

Xoçai is the world's first and only a dark chocolate product that is cold pressed, meaning that there is no heat processing of the cocoa bean so that it retains its amazingly high antioxidant rating. It is then mixed with Açai berries and blueberries, so it packs quite a punch! (ORAC value of 3120 per 12g nugget serving, if equal to more than a ½ pound of raw spinach).

Currently, commercial dark chocolate is heated and uses processed sugars, enormously reducing the health values that the medical studies are demonstrating dark chocolate to have!
A double blind study also associated this chocolate with improved insulin response, improved levels of "good" cholesterol HDL, weight loss, decreased heartburn, less PMS and improved sleep (see this, and many other scientific articles and links, in the notes below).

Xoçai tested and approved medical claims include:

1. Xoçai is a source of antioxidants to support good health

2. Xoçai helps to maintain circulatory and cardiovascular health

3. Xoçai Helps support healthy blood pressure

4. Xoçai reduces low-density lipoprotein oxidative susceptibility and increases serum high-density lipoprotein concentrations to support good health

5. Xoçai reduces platelet aggregation for the maintenance of good health

Dark chocolate may reduce blood pressure, and improve insulin resistance.
If you have high blood pressure, a daily bar-sized serving of flavonol-rich dark chocolate might lower your blood pressure and improve insulin resistance, researchers report in the July 19 issue of Hypertension: Journal of the American Heart Association.

Oprah lists Açai as the #1 Superfood! Açaí pulp contains a remarkable concentration of antioxidants that help combat premature aging, with 10 times more antioxidants than red grapes and 10 to 30 times the anthocyanins of red wine. A synergy of monounsaturated (healthy) fats, dietary fibre and phytosterols to help promote cardiovascular and digestive health. An almost perfect essential amino acid complex in conjunction with valuable trace minerals, vital to proper muscle contraction and regeneration.
